REACHING NEW HEIGHTS THROUGH
PROFESSIONAL TRANSLATION

ENGLISH - GERMAN - JAPANESE

This was then...

Translation has always been and will always be a specialized skill, which requires extensive studies and practice in order to provide quality work for the client. However, in the early stages it was a time-intensive process to provide large volume translation. One of the best known examples is the Rosetta Stone. Made in Egypt around 200BC, it is a stone tablet engraved with writing which celebrates the crowning of King Ptolemy V. Measuring 1m (approx. 3 Feet) high and 70cm (approx. 2 Feet) wide, it is made of black Basalt. The writing of the Rosetta Stone is the most interesting part: it is the same text repeated in three different alphabets:

bullet Hieroglyphic (upper part)- used by ancient Egyptians

bullet Demotic (center part)- used by Arabs

bullet Greek (lower part)- used by, Erm, Greeks

The translation was done by the Translator Jean-Francois Champollion, after whom a museum was dedicated. This museum is located in Champollion's home town of Figeac near Cahors in southern France. The Rosetta Stone now rests in the British Museum in London.

This is now...

However, the translation methods from earlier times will not suffice in todays World. Today, Translation has become a mass-production environment, in which Time to Market and the availability of a number of languages at the same time have become very important factors for the success of a company around the globe. It has therefore become tantamount to success to re-examine automated translation and use it, in order to gain a competitive advantage.
