Quite often Translation Agencies present themselves as "Jack of all Trades" in regards to competencies in different fields. However, we at Intertect, Inc. have a different philosophy. From the start of our business in 1979, we have specialized in only these key areas:

We will translate the electronic documentation provided by you into the language/s required. We are using the Trados Translator's Workbench for the translation of resource files, FrameMaker, Word and WordPerfect documents. Due to our ongoing internal developments, we are able to handle a variety of additional electronic file formats in order to provide you with the highest quality to the most cost-efficient prices. Translations are only handled by Intertect approved translators (see our page for Translator requirements).

Database Maintenance

For the translation process, Intertect uses the TRADOS® Translator's Workbench. This system saves every source language sentence together with its target language equivalent in a database. During the translation, the system checks each sentence to be translated against the contents of the database. If the system finds a matching or similar sentence, this sentence and its translation are retrieved from the database so that the translator can decide whether he/she wants to use or modify the existing translation. This decision is always made by an experienced translator. We use technology to provide advantages to our customers, but we are not slaves to it!!! After a three-way verification by editors and proofreaders, the final translation will be delivered to you. Follow-up assignments will result in considerable savings in money and time for you, since identical sentences (100% matches) are only charged 50% of the normal price and they have not to be translated again. This also provides you with on-going consistency and quality. Should you decide to implement an in-house translation solution instead, we can provide you with a complete implementation. Terminology Management

We will use the specific terminology provided by you (ideally prior to start) and integrate this terminolgy with TRADOS® MultiTerm, another component of the Trados product family. Upon completion, we can provide you with the project-specific terminology for future reference. An addtional advantage of the processes used by Intertect is the re-use of your terminology consistently, meaning not just for individual assignments but also for large projects or a succession of projects. This project/these projects are based on the same database and this database is used by all personnel involved in the translation effort.
